They now have completed seven matches without a defeat, having three victories and a draw in the progress. Team now currently stands at the third position with four points less than first placed Freiburg and with only one defeat in first ten eleven rounds they are one of the favorites to claim the promotions this season one way or another. With two victories in a row, their target is surely to get a new one and make another strong impace towards the promotion. Substitute midfielder Strauss will lose his third game in a row, while striker Boyd remains long term absentee. Central defender Nukan returned to training sessions, but he shouldn’t be involved here.
Fortuna Dusseldorf, on the other side, comes from a 1:0 victory at home over Arminia Bielefed last weekend. First halftime was rather equal, with both teams having couple of chances. However, the second half was much more passive for both teams, while the players of Dusseldorf just had two chances via counter attacks and it was enough for them to get the three pointer.
Team of Frank Kramer now stopped their streak of four matches without victory, as the team now aims to continue and make a run of positive results. Having in mind form of both teams, but also individual quality of the players, everything but an easy victory for the home team will be a surprise here. Leipzig has all the quality and should have no problems to get all three points, maybe even with a handicap victory.
